Core Facilities at BiO
The Biotechnology Centre of Oslo has a number of service facilites that provide routine services. Many of these facilities have the capacity to accomodate researchers from other UiO units as well as external clients.
Chemical Biology Services (HTS)
This facility is equipped with automated screening instrumentation and screening collections of small molecular compound libraries. The platform is can be used for any biochemical or cell-based screening activity, and can also be adapted to any large scale pipetting operations. Services provided for in-house projects as well as external customers.
Oligonucleotide Services
The laboratory provides rapid synthesis and delivery of oligonucleotides, produced according to the customer's specifications. A wide range of oligonucleotides can be synthesized, including si-RNA , miRNA , chimmeric oligos and Ribozymes.
Peptide Synthesis
The laboratory can synthesise peptides in solution and peptide arrays on cellulose membranes, as well as analyse amino acids from peptide hydrolysates.
Proteomics Service
A variety of proteomics services are available, including protein sample clean up, separation and staining, immunoblotting, protein digestion and sample clean up, protein identification (several methods), de novo sequencing and MaxQuant analysis.
Washing and Sterilizing
A centralized service providing culturing plates and solutions for internal and external users at the Innovation Centre of Oslo.
