Hosted by UiO
The Biotechnology Centre of Oslo (BiO) is a research centre hosted by the University of Oslo (UiO). As such, it does not belong to any faculty. The history of BiO started with a interdisiplinary effort to develope life science at UiO, and BiO has later been re-organized and placed under Molecular Life Science (MLSUiO). The figure below outlines the organisation at BiO after the re-organization.
BiO had seven research groups (see figure below), lead by internationally recruited team leaders. In 2013 two groups have rotated out, and one more is to follow.
The centre also has a number of technology platforms (the BiO Core Facilities), providing both internal and external services to facilitate research within the relevant fields.
