Hosted by UiO
The Biotechnology Centre of Oslo (BiO) is a research centre hosted by the University of Oslo (UiO). As such, it does not belong to any faculty. The history of BiO started with a interdisiplinary effort to develope life science at UiO, and BiO has later been re-organized and placed under Molecular Life Science (MLSUiO). The figure below outlines the organisation at BiO after the re-organization.
Research
BiO has seven research groups (see figure below), lead by internationally recruited team leaders.
Core facilities
The centre also has a number of technology platforms (the BiO Core Facilities), providing both internal and external services to facilitate research within the relevant fields.
